Records in this series pertain to the third deaconess conference held by the Deaconess Community of the Lutheran Church in America (LCA) August 7-10, 1973, at Muhlenberg College, Allentown, Pennsylvania. Records date from 1972-1973 and include agenda, minutes, reports, evaluations, printed remarks, orders of service, devotional material, business correspondence, and budgets. While several of the records were generated during the course of recording proceedings of the conference, many were generated because of the planning process for the conference. Reports include those filed by the deaconess council, executive secretary, consultant for community life, director of counseling and education, director of program for retired sisters, administrator for the deaconess center, librarian, and chaplain. There are also other summaries and post-conference reports. Also in this series are records that pertain to the keynote address, a Bible study held during the conference, as well as conference workshops held on pre-retirement, community life, expression in worship. This series also includes the evaluation forms completed at the conclusion of the conference by those who attended. These evaluations include rated responses as well as written comments.
